Italian Fort Hosts First Wedding In 500 Years

italyweddingThe Hotel Abbadetta in the medieval fortified village of Acquaviva Picena will play host a special Indian style wedding this May (2007)

Renowned for its romantic scenery, sunshine and great food, Italy is an increasingly popular choice of location for wedding ceremonies.

But within the walls of Acquaviva Picenta no wedding bells have been heard for 500 years... until now. The Hotel Abbadetta are changing all of that by holding a special Indian-style wedding this spring where guests will be wearing traditional Indian dress and enjoying celebratory fireworks and a circle of fire.

With this spectacular event, the hotel aims to establish itself as a special place for weddings, christenings and birthdays throughout the coming year and beyond. Surrounded by 13,000 square metres of grounds, its own vineyard and olive groves, plus views of the Sibilini Mountain range, it offers a scenic setting for a memorable occasion.

The 75 bedroom hotel has a large swimming pool and tennis court and is situated near historic villages and the white sands of San Benedetto del Tronto. It is ideally placed to discover the many mediaeval and modern treasures of the region and is easily
accessible from UK regional airports.
